Create a category

The first job with your new goldroo website is to create the categories (pages) where listings and/or articles can be added to.

To create a new category:

• Access your admin panel, and choose the Directory link from your Dashboard.
• Click the Add New Category link from the right hand side menu if you want to create a category linked from the homepage.
• If you want to create a subcategory for an existing category, navigate first to the category where you want to add the subcategory.
• On the category page, fill in the Category Name.
• Optionally fill in the Category Description; this description if given will appear at the top of the category.
• Optionally fill in the Category Description2; this description if given will appear at the bottom of the category page.
• Optionally fill in the Category Meta Description for the category, or leave the field blank to have a description automatically generated from the Category Description.
  This description is used to help search engines identify the contents of the page.
• Optionally fill in the Category Keywords for the category, or clear the text from the field to have a them automatically generated.
• If you don't want people to add listings to this category then check the Lock Category box.
• If you don't want Priority listings in this category to be featured in rotation on the home page then check the Disable Featured Listings box.
  This option will not be available if featured listings have been disabled site wide.
• A search engine friendly name for your new category will be automatically created based on the Category Name, so can leave the Folder Name field blank.
  If you want to choose your own folder name, you can enter the name required for the category folder.
• Click the Submit button; assuming no errors with your input data, the new category will be created.
